Post B
After working at the PR firm for a month, Bette knows that she gets the business. In the PR business, they have lists. Lists of people from different social classes, different industries and people who know people. It's all about everyone worth knowing. If you aren't on the list, you aren't worth knowing and therefore not worth inviting to anything. She begins to immerse herself in this lifestyle and also begins to lose herself in the process. She alienates herself from her beset friend, Penelope and even misses Penelope's engagement party for a work conflict. Bette isn't realizing what is important to her and is getting all caught up in the fame that comes with be an "it" girl by accident, courtesy of the jerk, Philip Weston. She is instantly a hot commodity and isn't guarding her heart. Once she is in the inside of the social life, she realizes that she doesn't want to leave.
